The Clearview Vision 500 Baffle/Throat plate is a steel plate manufactured from 5mm steel and is designed to sit on top of the Vision 500 fire bricks and its primary job is to protect the top of the stove from excessive heat. The Vision 500 baffle is also designed to slow down the exit of the flames within the firebox.

By slowing down the flames it will ensure it retains more heat within the firebox for longer thus giving more heat efficiency.

Its really important that you check your Vision 500 baffle regularly to ensure its in good working order as using the stove with a warped or burnt through baffle can cause serious damage to your stove.

Fire Brick Warranty Information:

Please note that due to the very nature of firebricks there are no warranties provided by the manufacturers. Fire bricks are excluded from any warranties in the same way as car brake pads would be due to the many variances that can cause these parts to deteriorate.

When used correctly and carefully fire bricks can last 12 months and sometimes even longer. Please note that using the fire only a few times before the brick cracks does not mean that the brick is faulty as it may have absorbed moisture, a log may have moved during firing and hit the brick or simply been overfired. Bricks can still be used if cracked. As long as the crack is not over 6mm wide (Pound coin) then it will still insulate in the same way.
