The Baffle/Throat Plate & Fire Brick Set For Franco Belge Montfort Elegance (Mk2) is a fantastic bundle of spares that offer excellent value for money.

 

The Pack contains a full set of Vermiculite fire bricks which protect the stoves walls from excessive heat and help insulate the firebox for better heat distribution into the room.

 

The kit also includes a replacement steel baffle that is designed to stop excess heat and flames shooting up the chimney to aid combustion and offer more heat into the fire box as well as protecting the connected flue.

Installation Instructions:


Installing the Franco Belge Montfort Elegance (MK2) and brick set is extremely easy and can be completed in around 5-10 minutes.

 

  • Remove the fuel retainer first.
  • Remove the side fire bricks carefully.
  • Carefully remove the rear fire brick by lifting the brick at the bottom and pulling towards you at an angle and un hook from the bafle.
  • Now remove the baffle and replace eveything in reverse order.

Fire Brick Warranty Information:

Please note that due to the very nature of firebricks there are no warranties provided by the manufacturers.  Fire bricks are excluded from any warranties in the same way as car brake pads would be due to the many variances that can cause these parts to deteriorate.

When used correctly and carefully fire bricks can last 12 months and sometimes even longer. Please note that using the fire only a few times before the brick cracks does not mean that the brick is faulty as it may have absorbed moisture, a log may have moved during firing and hit the brick or simply been overfired.  Bricks can still be used if cracked.  As long as the crack is not over 6mm wide (Pound coin) then it will still insulate in the same way.
