Supplying goods to countries within the EU

Since the UK finally left the European Union on the 1st Janurary 2021 there has been some changes in the way that we supply goods to the EU states.  Here you will find some information regarding making purchases from EU countries such as Replublic Ireland, France, Netherlands etc.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Orders to the republic of Ireland will be Zero rated for VAT on our website.  You must ensure that you have selected "Ireland" in the country selection.

Once the system understands that your in Ireland the product will be displayed at zero VAT prices in the shopping basket.

You will receive a copy of the order via email and it will display the VAT amount as £0.00

Please note that due to the new rules surrounding sending to EU states you will be liable for any charges that may become applicable when the goods pass through customs.

What Charges can I expect to receive?

Information is pretty thin at the moment but from what we now understand you will likely become liable for the equivilent of the VAT in your country.  At present this represents 21% VAT in Ireland which is payable on the goods purchased.  We also understand that DPD charge a customs handling fee which is payable also.  The fee for one particular customer was a 5 euro fee (plus the vat).

You will be notified of the amount due and this must be paid directly to DPD before the final delivery will be made.  Failure to make this payment will result in the goods being refused and returned.  This does not mean you are no longer liable for the fees.

Please do contact us to make this payment as this is purely a customs charge and DPD handling charge and is handled by DPD as the export handler.

France

Orders to France will be Zero rated for VAT on our website.  You must ensure that you have selected "France" in the country selection.

Once the system understands that your in France the product will be displayed at zero VAT prices in the shopping basket.

At present this represents 20% VAT . We also understand that DPD charge a customs handling fee which is payable also. At present we are unsure as to what this charge is for France.

Due to the fact that the VAT we deduct here in the UK is the same as in France you shouldnt really find much of an increase in price other than the handling fee charged by DPD.
